Who We Are

Who We Are

Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship at the University of Alaska Southeast is a group of college students dedicated to serving Jesus, discipling one another, and making lifelong friendships.

Everything we do runs on three anchors.

  1. Real Devotion

  2. Real Community

  3. Real Responsibility

We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

2 Corinthians 5:20

Even though our name is Greek, we’re not a fraternity or sorority. We believe that God longs to have each and every person be reconciled to Himself, and that the way that re-connection happens is through the representation of his people.

Each of us who takes on the identity of “Christian” becomes Christ’s ambassador — or christou apostoloi in Greek, which we shorten to the first letters “Chi” and “Alpha,” or XA. Our name is our constant reminder that each of us has a real part to play in this world. We each can carry Him within us to bring Him closer to the people around us.

Our Beliefs

Our beliefs can be summarized simply, and we welcome students from all backgrounds.

  1. God is real.
  2. God has revealed himself in Jesus.
  3. The Bible is God’s word.
  4. God still does stuff.
  5. God ought to be the most important thing in every person’s life.
